N2 Biomedical provides surface treatment and coating services that rely on advanced technologies including ion implantation, ion beam assisted deposition (IBAD), E-beam evaporation, ion sputtering, and anodization. These services are used in a wide range of applications across various industries.

Our surface treatments and coatings are used to improve wear and fretting resistance, corrosion resistance, fracture toughness, lubricity, infection resistance, biocompatibility, aesthetics, and radiopacity, as well as electrical and optical properties. Most of our processes can be applied to finished products at low temperatures without adversely affecting component dimensions, tolerances, or bulk material properties. Our processes are used on numerous FDA approved medical products, and all treatments are performed under our ISO-certified quality system typically in a clean room environment. Wear & Corrosion Resistance

RADIOPAQUE

Using our proprietary SPI-Sight process we can apply metallic radiopaque coatings with the desired thickness layer onto polymer, ceramic, or metal-based devices.

AESTHETICS

Using our Spi-Spectrum anodization technique we can provide a wide range of colors on a variety of titanium and aluminum-based devices.
